Best Running Shoes: Asics Running Shoes: New Running Shoes

Asics running shoes are the best beginner running shoe

Asics running shoes are the best running shoe for the beginning runner.  They provide support and stability with the advantage of the impact controlling gel cushioning. I recommend these shoes for starting out. However, as you become a stronger runner you’re going to want to practice working your way into a barefoot running style. See Nike Free as a transition shoe and the Vibram Five Fingers or other barefoot running shoe.

Best running shoes for running barefoot

This is easily my favorite shoe. This is the best barefoot running shoe. However they’re not the best running shoe for everyone. First you need to strengthen your feet. Then, when your arches are strong enough you’ll be able to handle running barefoot. A good beginner shoe is an Asics. Then I would recommend the Nike Free 7.5 and then 5.0 for your gradual transition away from arch support. Then I recommend going for some minimalist foot wear such as these shoes. To help yourself make the transition, spend as much time as possible walking barefoot. I don’t want to break down the biomechanics here, but there’s no question in my mind. If you’re looking for the best running shoe, or barefoot running shoes you’ve found them!

Best Running Shoe: Transition Shoe: Newton Running Shoes

Newton Running Shoes are excellent transition shoes.

Newton running shoes are a little different. That’s for certain. They’re rising in popularity and time will tell if they can maintain it. However, I’m interested in looking at them in terms of the goal of this site…do they deserve to be considered one of the ‘Best Running Shoes”. There are a lot of shoe sites where you can see every shoe known to man. Here I only want to showcase the best running shoes. So do they fill a need for a beginning running, intermediate, or advanced runner? Yes, they fit in the same category as the Nike Free Shoes. They offer that transitional step into barefoot running. So if you’re transitioning from your Asics into Nike’s you might also consider the newton shoes for help becoming accustomed to barefoot running shoes. Of course, you’ll still want to eventually get yourself into a real barefoot shoe such as the Vibrams.
Here you can also find the names of some of the top barefoot running styles.

Best Running Shoes: Nike Running Shoes: Nike Free 5.0 and Nike id

the nike free is one of the great transition shoes to barefoot running

Running barefoot is one of the great challenges and shouldn’t be immediately attempted. Having a knowledge of which shoes to use at what point in your training is important. If you’re really out of shape you should start with a shoe that offers support such as many of the Asics gel series. Then transition to the nike free 7.5, then the nike free 5.0, then to the merrel trail glove, and finally to something like the vibram five fingers. There are many running shoes to choose from and it’s important that you’re aware of how healthy your foot is and how strong your arch is before you transition to a given shoe. The weaker the arch (ie high or low arches) the more support you’ll need. I ran my first marathon in a pair of Nike Free’s despite the manufacturer insistence that their only for strides because they lack support. By then my feet were strong enough to not need the supports. Loved my Nike Free running shoes and recommended them to many over the years and bought many as well. It’s a good beginning transition shoe.

Best Running Shoes: Free Running Shoe: Altra Zero Drop

by Mortal

Altra zero drop minimalist shoes are another alternative for closed toed shoes that would be good as free running shoes. Then depending on your level of training will help you decide which are best. Most free running involves a lot of drops and impact. However with conditioning you may require less shoe support for these impacts. So for beginners I suggest Altra Zero Drop’s running shoe Lone Peak, but for the stronger arched individual I’m going to say to go with Samson or Adam. Either these or the Merrel Glove line.

Running Shoes Run: Best Running Shoes

Make the web better by giving the people what they're searching for.

Welcome to Running Shoes Run Dot Com. I hope you’ll find exactly what you need and quickly. However, I hope you’ll also take a moment to read this intro about the blog so that you can get the most out of this site.

Running Shoes Run was created in response to a need. People were looking online for the best running shoes. There were several websites out there that showed all of the running shoes. But there weren’t enough sites that showed just the Best Running Shoes. The clutter made it hard to determine which was the best. Part of the reason for this is the lack of experience of the developers creating the other blogs. They don’t have enough experience running to be able to give a professional opinion on what is the best running shoe for different levels of runners.

I was an All American in Cross Country in College, I have run a few sub 4 minute miles, I have run 20 miles in under 2 hours. So if you’re reading this and you know a fair amount about running, you know I’m not an Olympic athlete, but I’m well informed. What you don’t know is that I’ve been trained by an Olympic runner and a World Championship runner. Furthermore, I’m a wellness expert. Meaning, I have very similar training to a doctor (Most of the same major classes), but I focus on lifestyle instead of signs and symptoms. So no, I am not a doctor, my focus is on how to get better without them. So when I pick a shoe, I’m thinking very deeply about the bio-mechanics, the plastic deformity, the neurology, and how all of those influence the runner’s form and ultimate well being.

The shoes presented on this website were hand picked for the specific needs of runners at different level of training. The ultimate goal of any runner should be to run barefoot or close to it. However, running barefoot, causes puncture wounds. Getting your feet cut up is no big deal because you develop calluses, it’s the puncture wounds I worry about. That random sharp rock or shard of class or tetanus infused nail. So some shoe wear is desirable if it can have as minimal of an impact as possible. Hence the invention of barefoot and minimalist foot wear. This type of shoe wear is the goal of any runner.

However, most Americans spend their lives wearing casts. What I mean is that most Americans spend their lives wearing shoes that encase their feet. This causes the muscles in the feet to be weak. So it’s important that a beginning runner start out with some support in their original shoe. Then as their legs and feet gain strength they can transition into more minimalist foot wear. The shoes on this site are separated into 3 main categories. Beginning Shoes, Transition shoes, and minimalist or barefoot shoes. You should transition cautiously into barefoot shoes and only a few miles at a time. Transitioning too quickly will cause you to be prone to injury. So set it as a goal and make gradual changes.

There are two other categories on the site which came about in response to what people were searching for. Many people have started to look into obstacle course racing / free running / parkour. I know a lot about these activities as I run the phoenixparkour.com blog and teach parkour for free in the Phoenix, Arizona area.  These types of running activities take a little more impact and therefore a thicker sole. From experience I can tell you that separated toes get caught on things and it hurts a lot. So for these activities I recommend the closed toed shoes and thicker soles which are still a zero-drop heel-to-toe.  Also, your arch does touch during these activities, so no coverage of the arch is not okay.  Finally, the more grip the better.

The last category that is searched for are women running shoes. Thankfully all of the best running shoes also have styles and designs that cater to women. So the top is the top for women just as it is for men and children.

I hope you find the shoe that fits your training needs. I hope you find a local store you can pick them up. I hope you run them into the ground and do it all over again. Be Safe, Have Fun.
